HOW HISTORIANS STUDY THE PAST
The forms of evidence include oral history, witness testimony, documents, archaeological findings and numerous others.
Oral and witness testimony are not genuine evidence or totally lacking truth!
Even document or archaeological finding may not tell the right/true history because the writers could have motives or prejudices. You have no way to know if the recording parties were impartial!!!!
In the court room:
Lawyer: "You saw the murder, don't you?"
Eye witness: "Yes, I did."
Lawyer: "Did you see this person at the scene, murdering the victim?"
Eye witness: "It was quite dark, I saw someone that looked like him."
Lawyer: "No, you have to be very specific! Was this the man?"
Eye witness: "May well be, he had the same height, and same color in the dark!"
Lawyer: "So, this was the man then?"
Eye witness: "If you said so, I guess this is the man!"
Lawyer: "No, I did not say so. It must be your own eyes!"
Eye witness: "Yes, my eyes said this looked to be the same man!"
Judge: "Very well, this man was identified to be the murderer....court dismiss, sentence to be carried out after 2 weeks!"
Mad Joe, is this what your eye witness can do???
A justice joke of the century?
