There’s no way Bruce Wayne could keep his secret identity a secret...NSA the National Security Agency would have found him out to be Batman a long time ago. You can’t build a secret fortress like that without them knowing about something fishy too.

I’m tired of Bullshit in storytelling.

Anyone else tired of Hollywood underestimating their viewers intelligence and IQ?

It's called "voluntary suspension of disbelief".

Superman wouldn't work either.

Most people return to reality after the movie ends - but fundies don't
after the service.

It has been implied in the DC Comics stories that govt black ops
types like Amanda Waller do know who the Batman is, or that with
the resources at their disposal, they could find out, but choose
not to blow his cover, because he's an asset.

You can suggest a vigilante take care of a problem, and the
govt has plausible deniability.

Bruce is rich. Bribes may have been taken.

In various versions of the continuity, the Batman is the best human
friend of a near-omnipotent alien resident of Earth. That's a
handy guy to have around if and when the alien needs to be brought
under control, or influenced.

JLAers have had access, in the comics at least, to Amazonian, Kryptonian,
Thanagarian, Rannian and, to an extent, Oan tech. There have been members
from New Genesis, specifically Scott (Mr Miracle) Free, who are fully
conversant with NGtech and that of Apokolips. If the Batman wanted
to hide something, in that continuity, he could hide it.

This is more a rec.arts.comics.dc.universe question than an alt.atheism
one, except that, in some versions, Bruce is a non-believer.

[Hey, his parents were shot before his eyes when he was, what, 8?
Would you believe in a "just ghod" if your life was like that?]

They don't seem to be doing so well yet at finding things
under intercontinental oceans - aeroplanes, submarines.
So Aquaman and Namor's stuff is probably safe.

Hollywood can't even keep their own bullshit straight.

First there's all these Star Trek movies where a starship goes from star
to star in a matter of days.

Then JJ Abrams helms another Star Trek movie and just has his villain
beam to a planet several light years away from Earth.

Not even God would need a starship if they can do that.

As Roddenberry said, the ship moves at the speed of plot (or words to
that effect).

That's fine, just keep it away from my Greg Bear/Gregory Benford/Arthur
Clarke hard science fiction.

They all have to bend the rules, so to speak. Monolith gateway, anyone?

It's science fiction, Teresita. It's about possibilities. And who is to say that, given time, such things as transporters won't be invented? And, no
god will have anything to do with it. It would certainly speed things up.

It would violate Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. Just the scan to
determine the position and identity and bond-status of each atom in your
body would parboil you before it got up to your ankle.

Han Solo said, "Flying through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy."

Then JJ Abrams has him basically do just that, over the Starkiller planet.

He was simpy saying that it wasn't easy and that you had to be careful doing it.

In emergency situations, you may have to take chances. That's why Han also
said, "Don't tell me the odds."

I've always been suspicious of the science in science fiction. Haven't you?
