It is generally agreed by historians that Jesus and his disciples primarily spoke Aramaic (Jewish Palestinian Aramaic), the common language of Judea in the first century AD, most likely a Galilean dialect distinguishable from that of Jerusalem.

That's just a New Age fantasy that went out of style at least 30 years ago,

Why can't you and ArtyJoe seem to be able to spell "Arabic"? And no,
he didn't. You're confusing him with Mohammed. Look, just because you
can't understand King James English doesn't mean it's a foreign
language. And it's worth spending the time to understand, because it's
the original words Jesus spoke. Isn't that important to you?

Because, dumbass, it's Aramaic and not Arabic.

Arabic and Aramaic are Semitic languages, both originating in the Middle East.
Though they are linguistically related, with similar vocabulary, pronunciation
and grammatical rules, these languages differ from one another in many ways.

Actually, everybody except you (and Arty-come-lately) knew
it was parody. That's because most people can recognize satire
when they see it. It all started with this article, from the guess where -- the Babylon Bee --
and you fell for it, hook, line, and anvil:

http://babylonbee.com/news/jesus-disciples-british-accents-scholar-claims/

Just like you fell for that other piece of Babylon Bee satire, the one about Saint Paul's
King James Bible being up for sale on eBay. Remember that one?

Still not getting it? Here are some other choice Babylon Bee articles:

Church Bassist Tragically Bursts Into Flames While Warming Up With Black Sabbath Riff

Giant King James Bible Hurtling Toward Earth

Vast Swathes Of Pumpkin Spice Deposits Discovered Beneath Seattle

Man Raptured Upon Tasting In-N-Out Burger For First Time

Old Earth Creationist Interprets Popcorn Instructions As `Microwave For 1.7 Million Years'

Terrifying `It' Sequel To Feature Pat Robertson Instead Of Pennywise The Clown

Youths Make Joke About Tim Keller's Baldness, Immediately Mauled By Bears

See any pattern here yet?

.> He's welcome to make an ass of himself at all times, but he

Yep, you're that one guy in the room who doesn't get the joke.

And AGAIN! Geez, Duke, you just now read that link, where it said about your church:

Additionally, submitting any competitor baptism
will be worth an automatic entry into the Vatican's
upcoming Come Home Sweepstakes, where one lucky winner
will win a Treasury of Merit shopping spree, plus an
exclusive offer of absolution.

While accepting competitor baptisms is new to the
Vatican, the push for savings-friendly programs isn't.
Last year, Pope Francis announced the Church would
match or beat the penance assigned by any Orthodox
Church, which was followed by its popular One
Confession For The Whole Year promotion.

and didn't catch on that something ... just wasn't quite serious?
Man oh man...

Aramaic
It is generally agreed by historians that Jesus and his disciples primarily spoke Aramaic (Jewish Palestinian Aramaic), the common language of Judea in the first century AD, most likely a Galilean dialect distinguishable from that of Jerusalem.

...nope. Not Aramaic...the so called "historians" are all full of
crap. I say that Jesus was an alien and spoke Klingon.

Here we go..Jesus at the last supper:

"Dochvetlh vISoplaHbe'
Translated; I can't eat that thing !

...and on the cross:

Heghlu’meH QaQ jajvam
Translated: Today is a good day to die.

...you see, it all fits. You disagree ? Prove me wrong.

Because it's Mad Joe doing what Mad Joe does.

He's a malignant narcissist who routinely lies, himself - and imagines
everybody else does the same.

But when he does it, he doesn't see it as lying - just something to
say. And that includes when he accuses us of lying.

He's a malignant narcissist
I looked for that term "malignant narcissist" in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Assn.
Here is what I found:

Malignant narcissism is a hypothetical, experimental diagnostic category. Narcissistic personality disorder is found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR), while malignant narcissism is not.
That means Psychiatrists don't recognize it as a mental illness.

YOU ARE A FRAUD.

That's irrelevant, ArtyJoe. We already know that Jesus spoke English. If he
spoke Aramaic instead, then King James would have written the original
Bible in Aramaic. You're not thinking straight.

OMG why??! Because I respect the Bible enough not to want it to be
paraphrased? Real Christians read the original KJV.

Total. Ignorant. Bullshit.

Protestants read a wide range of translations. Here is a list of some of them:

Here is how the 3 Semitic languages are organized:

Aramaic is the original root language from which Hebrew and Arabic developed.
Aramaic is mostly obsolete today, except for the Chaldeans who live in Iraq.
Israelis speak Hebrew.Arabic is spoken in Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Jordan,Syria, Kuwait and Oman.

WRONG. I went to Hebrew school as a teenager, so I can read and understand Hebrew well enough to say prayers written in Hebrew. I understand about 5 words in Arabic.I do not understand Aramaic at all.

Well, I did try to clue him in. He wasn't interested.

Reminiscent of Duke, who has fallen for every piece from the
Babylon Bee that's been posted here. I never get over being
amazed that there are people who are so oblivious
to whimsy and artful silliness that they can read a piece
that just shrieks "parody" and swallow every word of it, straight.

These are the people you see on social media earnestly passing on
pieces from The Onion and the Borowitz Report and yes,
the Babylon Bee believing they're completely serious.
Generally with a large helping of hilariously misdirected outrage.

Aramaic
It is generally agreed by historians that Jesus and his disciples primarily spoke Aramaic (Jewish Palestinian Aramaic), the common language of Judea in the first century AD, most likely a Galilean dialect distinguishable from that of Jerusalem.
One would expect everybody from that space and time to speak Aramaic.
