Jesus did not invent Christianity. Paul the Apostle did that.
Jews accept converts. They are not a race.

the Jew is at once recognized, no matter what race he lives among?
How did the Jews come to have such strange traditions setting them
apart, racially and religiously, from the Gentiles?
Should we say that Jews are members of a race, or followers of a
religion?
Jews are not a race. We accept converts of all races. The child of a Jewish Mother is a Jew and so is a formal convert to Judaism.
Being Jewish means being part of a nation/ethnic group.

Judaism is a religion, yes.
Post by Bruno Chin
If the Jew is the follower of a religion, why does it cause him so much
inconvenience or harassment, as against the followers of other religions?
What is the Talmud?
It is rabbinical law.
Post by Bruno Chin
Is the Talmud a single book?
No. The Babylonian Talmud consists of 15 books.
Post by Bruno Chin
Are the two Talmuds alike?
Yes.
Post by Bruno Chin
How did the Babylonian Talmud come to be written, if the Jerusalem
Talmud was already in existence?
The two were written in different languages. The Baby Talmud was originally written in Aramaic. Now it is available in most all languages.
Post by Bruno Chin
Are the two Talmuds the holy books of the Jews?
It depends who you ask. The Orthodox consider the Talmud their first book of Jewish law, while Conservative and Reform Jews put the Torah first.
Post by Bruno Chin
What does the term Rabbi mean?
Teacher
Post by Bruno Chin
Is a Rabbi and a Jewish priest one and the same?
We have no more priests.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why did the Destruction of the Temple destroy the Israelite priestly
caste?
No
Post by Bruno Chin
What was the Ark of the Covenant?
Is there any difference between the Jehovah of the Jews, and the Divine
Father spoken of by Jesus and as worshipped by the Christians?
Well, that's a bit controversial. The bible claims God is the same for both Christian and Jew. Some of us disagree.
Post by Bruno Chin
What is the difference between a Jewish Temple and a Synagogue … and
isn't the synagogue the Jewish Church?
The two words mean the same. Yes.
Post by Bruno Chin
Are the modern Jews and the ancient Israelites one and the same people?
No.The ancient Israelites were all Hebrews, which is a specific tribe.
My ancestors all came from Eastern Europe and converted to Judaism in the 18th century. We are not Hebrews.
Post by Bruno Chin
Were there no Jews in the world prior to the coming of Jacob's sons to
Egypt?
I don't know.
Post by Bruno Chin
Was there really an Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob?
It's hard to say.
Post by Bruno Chin
Did not Christ's words confirm that there was an Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob?
Yes, but he was talking about his faith, not historical fact.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why does the Old Testament refer to the early Hebrews as Israelites?
That's where they settled.
Post by Bruno Chin
Have we any other accounts than those of the Old Testament on the
advent and adventures of the Hebrews in Egypt?
Yes, but very few.
Post by Bruno Chin
Were the Children of Israel persecuted by the Egyptians?
They were enslaved.
Post by Bruno Chin
Was Pharaoh drowned in the Red Sea while the favored Hebrews passed
over to Midian unscathed?
No.
Post by Bruno Chin
Is the Exodus story a myth?
It depends who you ask.
Post by Bruno Chin
Did Moses write the first five books of the Old Testament?
He supervised the writing.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why do we call the Jews "Semites"?
The Hebrews speak a Semitic language called Modern Hebrew.
Some Jews do not speak Hebrew. Jewish men learn it when they study for their Bar Mitzvah. They have to. Most prayers in Judaism are written in Hebrew.
Have the Jews the right to designate Palestine as their Homeland?

Certainly.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why were the Jews carried captive to Babylon?
The Babylonia Empire invaded and took them captive.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why do today's Jews make such an ungodly pother about returning to
Palestine as a race?
Some do. Some don't.
Post by Bruno Chin
How many Jews are there in the whole world today?
13 million
Post by Bruno Chin
What is the Jewish Sanhedrin?
A religious court.
Post by Bruno Chin
Is the Sanhedrin still in active existence?
Yes.
Post by Bruno Chin
Do Jews actually believe that the day is coming when they are going to
be supreme masters over all the other races and peoples of earth?
Absolutely not.
Post by Bruno Chin
Are the Jews a united people for the achievement of a world
messiahship?
Don't know that word.
Post by Bruno Chin
How do Sephardic Jews differ from Ashkenazic Jews?
Sephardics came from Spain, Portugal and North Africa
Ashkenazis came from Eastern Europe.
Post by Bruno Chin
To which branch of Jews did Jesus Christ belong?
Don't know
Post by Bruno Chin
Why did the Jews deny Christ?
He does not fit the description of the Jewish Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. Judaism accepts only one Divine being, God Himself.
Post by Bruno Chin
Why does the Bible, as the "Inspired Word of God," persistently
represent Christ as being a Jew?
Because he was.
Post by Bruno Chin
What was Ebionitism?
Don't know
Post by Bruno Chin
Isn't the Bible the Inspired Word of God?
Yes.
Post by Bruno Chin
What is the Vulgate?
Something in Catholicism. Ask Duke.

You know most, if not all non-troll a.a readers/posters
will not take the word of the author(s) of exodus, and/or
its editors, as dispositive.

Which Pharoah was that, by the way?

[quote]

Yet, outside of biblical scripture, there is next to no evidence in the
archaeological and historical record of Moses's existence. There is no
exact time frame for when the events of Exodus may have occurred --
with scholarly conjecture spanning more than half a millennium. Nor do we
know the identity of the villainous Pharaoh in the Bible, cast in films
repeatedly as Ramesses II. That pharaoh is famed for his conquests and
building projects. But in their digs and readings of inscriptions and
papyrus, historians have found no trace of Moses under Ramesses's reign.

Indirect witnesses[edit]
Garraghan says that most information comes from "indirect witnesses," people who were not present on the scene but heard of the events from someone else.[7] Gottschalk says that a historian may sometimes use hearsay evidence when no primary texts are available. He writes, "In cases where he uses secondary witnesses...he asks: (1) On whose primary testimony does the secondary witness base his statements? (2) Did the secondary witness accurately report the primary testimony as a whole? (3) If not, in what details did he accurately report the primary testimony? Satisfactory answers to the second and third questions may provide the historian with the whole or the gist of the primary testimony upon which the secondary witness may be his only means of knowledge. In such cases the secondary source is the historian's 'original' source, in the sense of being the 'origin' of his knowledge. Insofar as this 'original' source is an accurate report of primary testimony, he tests its credibility as he would that of the primary testimony itself." Gottschalk adds, "Thus hearsay evidence would not be discarded by the historian, as it would be by a law court merely because it is hearsay."[8]

Objection, heresay.
The real issue, is why the proven serial liar keeps repeating the
same nonsense to people who have pointed out the problems with the
story as if doing that made the issues go away, instead of addressing
them? Every time he has posted the same contentious nonsense?

And why has he never once addressed the reasons given by Israeli
archaeologists, why the events never happened?

We know he's a narcissist, but does he _really_ not understand what it
tells us about him?

And it ain't flattering.

"The scholarly consensus is that the figure of Moses is legendary, and not historical,[8] although a "Moses-like figure may have existed somewhere in the southern Transjordan in the mid-late 13th century B.C."[31] Certainly no Egyptian sources mention Moses or the events of Exodus-Deuteronomy, nor has any archaeological evidence been discovered in Egypt or the Sinai wilderness to support the story in which he is the central figure."

Was he talking about corroborated hearsay close to the events, or
uncorroborated and a thousand years after they were supposed to have
happened?

Which is something else he ignores and simply repeats his original red
herring hoping the objection goes away - but it won't until it is
satisfactorily addressed, if it ever will be.=.

Does Mad Joe really imagine that repeating his same old contentious
nonsense and screaming "LIAR!!!!" make this go away, instead of
having the intellectual integrity to address the objections to the
story?

He claims "scholars believe it" but never explains why, or how they
reach their conclusions. Let alone if they are actually conclusions
rather than merely their religious belief.

All of which he has had pointed out repeatedly.

Yet, outside of biblical scripture, there is next to no evidence in the
archaeological and historical record of Moses's existence.

From "Historical Method" in Wikipedia
Insofar as this 'original' source is an accurate report of primary testimony, he tests its credibility
as he would that of the primary testimony itself." Gottschalk adds, "Thus hearsay evidence would not be discarded by the historian, as it would be by a law court merely because it is hearsay."[8]

Historicity
"The scholarly consensus is that the figure of Moses is legendary,
and not historical,[8] although a "Moses-like figure may have existed
somewhere in the southern Transjordan in the mid-late 13th century
B.C."[31] Certainly no Egyptian sources mention Moses or the events
of Exodus-Deuteronomy, nor has any archaeological evidence been d
iscovered in Egypt or the Sinai wilderness to support the story in
which he is the central figure."

Have the Jews the right to designate Palestine as their Homeland?
Certainly.
Where does this "right" come from?

Jesus was a Hebe who invented Christianity.
Why did God create such a difference between Jew and Gentile, so that
the Jew is at once recognized, no matter what race he lives among?
How did the Jews come to have such strange traditions setting them
apart, racially and religiously, from the Gentiles?
Should we say that Jews are members of a race, or followers of a
religion?
Jews are not a race. We accept converts of all races. The child of a
Jewish Mother is a Jew
A child of a Jewish mother is a child. What
religion you try to impose on him is a different
issue.
