Discussion:
Fun with theists
(too old to reply)

What you'll need:

1) a theist who would like to proselytize you
2) pen and paper

What to do:

Write down a four-digit number, keeping it hidden from the theist's
view. Then, say "I will convert to Christianity [or whatever
religion] right now; all you have to do is pray to God to tell you
what number I've written down is, and I'll convert."

It's such a small thing for an omnipotent being to do, but the
supposed Christian god can't do it!

If one would convert to something, it seems that it ought
to be based upon truth and built upon a solid foundation.

Not upon some silly gimmick as the poster depicts above.

Thus exposing his foolishness and vulnerability to being
deceived.

Is this true?

"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

How about this?

"Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe"

Is it true that Jesus then performed a wonder, so that the person who needed
a sign would believe?

You missed the thread where I made a similar proposition to Andrew --
a ten line proof of Fermat's Last Theorem, using only algebra --
to which Andrew replied:

"Since the Devil could do that for you, he will be,and is, your "god".

and elsewhere offered Scripture as proof that Satan could work miracles just
like Jesus. Which he did by quote mining TheRevelation. Chapter 13 specifically:

"And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles
which he had power to do in the sight of the beast"

I pointed out that Andrew had kind of sort of skipped six or seven chapters
of Revelation which told of things that have tyet o happen before we get to
that point.

Things like a mountain of fire falling into the sea and turning a third of it to blood
and sinking a third of all the world's ships, a third of the world's forests burning up,
-- you know, stuff which, if it has already happened, you'd think someone
would have jotted down a note or two.

And I'm pretty sure these guys would have made all the entomological journals
if they had already showed up before now:

And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle;
and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as
the faces of men.

And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of
lions.

And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of
their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their
tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

All things that have to happen before "Satan" (actually a lamb horned dragon)
gets the power to perform miracles just like Jesus.

Andrew's not only not above quote mining scientists; he'll quote mine Scripture.

Why wouldn't God want to participate in the "gimmick" we're talking
about? It would be irrefutable evidence of God's existence, which
atheists always claim you don't have.

So, Andrew, are you ready to play? Wouldn't you like to see me
posting things in support of theism? We would need somewhere to store
the number, but I'm sure we could overcome that difficulty, if there's
real interest on your part.

Quit trying to change the subject. A lot of the difference between a

illustration of how God is just imaginary -- he can't tell you

..but let's test it on some of our resident Christian trolls. Pay

Why? To anyone that has already mastered breathing through
their nose you look like an idiot.

AND, you're a goddamn liar! Four digits? There's a one-in-10,000
chance of guessing right, and not a day goes by when hundreds
if not thousands do just that.

Here. Texas does four games a day:

https://www.txlottery.org/export/sites/lottery/Games/Daily_4/index.html

Massachusetts only does two:

https://www.masslottery.com/games/lottery/numbers-game.html

You get the idea, speaking rhetorically.

So your "Test" is passed every single day, but even if you conducted
it personally, and you lost on your bet, you would not convert.
