PermalinkWe're under a high winds warning all over SoCal. I'm watching LA
County neighborhoods being completely devastated. The number of homes
in Pacific Palisades and other nearby communities burned to the ground
has got to be in the hundreds. People stuck in traffic jambs forced
to flee on foot while their cars are left to burn along the road.
This will probably leave thousands of people homeless and even
carless. Lives that were fine yesterday, destroyed today. The wind
is not as strong where I am as was forecast, but this is an extremely
high fire risk area, and everything is bone dry. I've been through
one fire here a few years ago, and I hope I don't have to go through
another. If we get a fire here, especially in the middle of the
night, it's going to be bad. I may not go to sleep tonight, and where
are all those other people going to be sleeping?
