Post by v***@gmail.comPost by dukePost by BobPost by v***@gmail.comThe Old Testament (abbreviated OT) is the first part of Christian Bibles, based primarily upon the Hebrew Bible (or Tanakh), a collection of ancient religious writings by the Israelites believed by most Christians and religious Jews to be the sacred Word of God.
It's laws are for Jews and Christians only.
Christians are not under the Mosaic Law.
Well, you're no Christian and now you deny the OT.
Post by BobWe respect it, but are not compelled to obey it.
Sorry, sinner. One God, one law and he doesn't change his mind..
Most Christians obey some of the OT law, but not all of it.
Well, the OT vs the NT is time-related. Our living God's first presentation to
us is the first covenant (OT), giving us the 10 commandments, 613 Levi laws to
use, the development of Israel, Kings, government, etc.
The new covenant given in the NT takes it further to 1) loving and obeying God
and 2) loving neighbor as we love ourselves.
Romans 13:8-10 New International Version (NIV)
Love Fulfills the Law
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one
another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments,
“You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,”
“You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up
in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm
to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Observance of OT law differs between Reform, Conservative and Orthodox Jews.
Matthew 15:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 What goes into someoneÂ’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of
their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

The Purpose of the NT Word of God is not to inform as it did in
the OT,but instead to form us in the very image of Jesus Christ.
